McSweeney’s List (March 1, 2023)

McSweeney's List 2

It's come to my attention that I'm the only one in the world who has cable but no mortgage. Apparently, those who choose the path of picket fence adulthood often sign cable contacts while picking out riding mowers, but renters of all ages are expected to get their media elsewhere.

Listen, you can't even skip YouTube ads anymore; they start before I hit play. My fast forward button however, remains fully functional. I have Prime, and yet, everything I want to watch there requires an additional paid subscription, which is a total scam.

And you know what, sometimes I just want to flip on Cartoon Network or Adult Swim and watch whatever pretty colours the thing feeds me. Left to my own devices floating in the netscape, I would've never discovered The Amazing World of Gumball, and that's the real moral for today: open yourself to the beautiful things you discover when you aren't looking.

It’s like staring into peoples’ windows, but different…

We might still be under snow, but spring season lineups are sprouting up everywhere.

Fonderie Darling is launching Récite d'un courte nuite / Yarn of a Short Night by Amélie Laurence Fortin, and Fossiles Sonores / Sound Fossils by Sandra Volny in grand fashion.

Artists in Montreal Studios, along with the artists in International Residencies will open their studios and give us a gander at their latest works.
