McSweeney’s List (10 April 2024)
Vulnerability is a sensitive topic. I've been thinking a lot about it lately, and as is so often the case, once something is in your mind’s eye, you catch glimpses of it everywhere.
Wood Andrews - An Artist Of Many Faces
Andrew Woods’ Mile-End studio is located on the same street corner, and in the same building, where Arcade Fire, Stars, Operators, and others have recorded some of the best music to come out of this city.
Raising The Bar and The Ceiling - Funny Women MTL
Funny Women began in the UK in 2002, organized by Lynne Parker. Parker was sick of comedy spaces being dominated by men and the narrative that women don’t carry the same calibre of humour. Their goal was simple yet challenging: to see and support more women in comedy spaces.
McSweeney’s List (3 April 2024)
I don't have a bucket list. This is weird because my notes app is an overfilled bulletin board of lists and half thoughts, sometimes a list of half thoughts with a plan to do more with each of them. But a bucket list is a different beast.

On a cosmic scale, I believe we're all incredible miracle-souls who deserve not only survival, but glorious abundance, and sustained joy.
McSweeney’s List (20 March 2024)
Ever notice how the current societal model keeps us grinding? Through a super slow boiling process that began in the industrial age, we've burned away our seasonal celebrations and replaced them with corporate timelines.

The Chemical Valley Project is a production about the Aamjiwnaang First Nation on the banks of the St. Clair River, near Sarnia, Ontario, and the physical and emotional damage done to its people by the over 60 petrochemical plants and oil refineries operating in the surrounding area.
Leaving Eden: Montreal’s Venue Problem - Part One
It’s September 2022, and I’m standing at the back of the Diving Bell Social Club, leaning up against the bar. The house lights have been dimmed, and the coloured stage lights flash with precise coordination, making for an ambiance that is at once intimate and exciting.
McSweeney’s List (13 March 2024)
I went to the dentist last week, which shouldn't be something worth talking about, but here we are. It's notable first because I didn't want to go, and secondly because I was glad I did. Indulge me, Dear Reader, as I tell you all about it.
McSweeney’s List (6 March 2024)
It feels like the flowers could bloom at any moment. I've had to dress for rain more often than snow in the past few weeks, and I heard the bravest gaggle of geese returning from southern climes. (They were followed by waves of less brave but still bold birds over the next few days.) We're in the hopeful in-between as we move from winter to spring, and the former already feels long gone.
